ÉTYM. Av. 1962; substantivation de l'adj. grec prosthios, a, on « placé par devant ».
Anat., anthrop. Dans un crâne, point du maxillaire supérieur qui se trouve au sommet de la pointe osseuse située entre les incisives centrales. (On dit aussi point alvéolaire).
